Welcome

You may have found this website by mistake – but if not, you probably looked this up because you wanted to see just what kind of person writes a book like Unsafe Sex. Which immediately creates a dilemma for the writer, who being a pretty average kind of human is all too aware that she is bound to disappoint.

Some would argue that the writer is merely an instrument of the muse, but quite honestly who buys that one? So not wishing to disappoint, the author has decided to let you make up your own mind.

However, it would be true to say that Ruth has been writing for many years. She's had several non-fiction books published and hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles. But Unsafe Sex is her first foray into fiction.

Ruth says: 'Naturally I'd like to top the bestseller chart and retire on the proceeds. Who wouldn't! But the money isn't my main motivation in wanting to be published. For years I've been creating characters and situations in my head - and if nobody reads about them it feels wrong, somehow. It's like having children - and then keeping them in the cupboard. It's time The Sun started a campaign against cruelty to neglected fictional characters, and started bashing agents and publishers - so poor old social workers can have a break.'

Praise for Unsafe Sex

'It's utterly unputdownable but also very subtle and moving - though probably not suitable for your granny, unless she's very open-minded.'
